Benefits of autoflowering cannabis

The main advantage of autoflowering is, of course, the absence of the need to count anything. With indoor photoperiods, you have to monitor the size of plants on the veg and at the moment when the bush reaches half of the permissible growth, immediately switch to flowering. And it's good if on a stretch such a plant only doubles - then the size limit will not be exceeded. But it can stretch by 2.5-3 times .. As Prematurely Ripe Autoflowersfor the outdoors, a photoperiodic plant must be planted so that the vegetation period is complete before the daylight hours are reduced in autumn. For autoflowers, both of these difficulties are absent: in the outdoor, you need to plant autoflowering cannabis only with the expectation of 2-3 warm months, you can even in June. The photo on the right shows autoflowers that matured long before the end of summer: It is easy to guess from the previous point that the second main advantage of autos is their relative early maturity. In the vast majority of cases, autoflowering marijuana matures faster (2-3 months) than photoperiodic (3-4 months). The genetics of ruderalis make autoflowering strains more resistant to cold temperatures, since ruderalis comes from rather cool regions. The relatively short life cycle of autoflowers allows 2 harvests per summer outdoors, and even three in warm regions. Frequently asked questions about autoflowering

Do autoflowers yield less yield?

Not always! Of course, there are prerequisites for such a statement. Why do photoperiods grow at all, although autoflowering is easier? Because when the grower decides how much to vegetate, he is essentially deciding how big the bush will be. As a rule, photoperiodic hemp is kept during the growing season for 1.5-2 months in order to develop a powerful trunk and branched structure, and only then is it transferred to flowering. Larger bushes naturally produce more flowers.

However, some of the modern autoflowering flowers are very vegetative. Although the average yield for autoflowering cannabis is about 100-120 grams of dry buds per plant, the last word remains with the grower: how do you train the plant, whether it gets the most light, whether you use fertilizers wisely, how good is your soil or substrate for root nutrition. Some growers also shoot less than 100g from a photoperiodic plant. In contrast, we are proud to show you a photo of the record holder: Auto Mazar from Dutch Passion freed 900g (!!!) of dry inflorescences indoors under a 1000W lamp:

Indoor dry flower harvest

The average yield of the Auto Mazar variety is 100 g per plant. As you now understand, the effectiveness of your grow, although it depends on genetics, is determined by your interest in the grow, the amount of work and attention that you are willing to devote.

Is it true that autoflowers aren't as powerful? Is there a difference in taste and smell?

The difference between photoperiodic and autoflowering strains is getting smaller every decade. An important factor is that autoflowering cannabis contains more THC free CBD Oils, which, with its anti-anxiety and antipsychotic effects, somewhat mitigates the effects of THC. In terms of appearance, taste and smell, the autoflowering version of any strain is not too different from the photoperiodic version. Usually, if there is a difference, then it boils down to the fact that more leaves grow on the inflorescences of autoflowering cannabis, which complicates trimming. This is hardly a drawback, since the foliage on the inflorescences contributes to their nutrition and development.
