La banda Ser fue fundada en mayo de 2002 en Mendoza, Argentina. Surgió como la idea de expresar al ser humano y su entorno natural y social mediante sonidos musicales. Su estilo, rock instrumental, integra además el metal progresivo, heavy, hard rock, jazz fusión, algunas baladas de guitarra, melodías orientales y clásicas. A pesar de que algunas canciones tienen poesía, el grupo nunca quiso integrar un cantante.
Entre su repertorio, encontramos remakes del gran compositor de tango Astor Piazzolla.
Desde un inicio, los integrantes fueron Aníbal Rivero (guitarra), Federico Lemos (guitarra), Horacio Cafici (batería) y Gabriel Narváez (bajo), quien posteriormente fue reemplazado por Leandro Tapia. En algunos eventos, la banda ha contado con Pablo Cafici como invitado, un reconocido pianista del medio musical mendocino.
Ser, grabó su primer disco de 12 canciones a principios de 2005 pero nuca llegó a editarse por disolución de la banda. Por el momento solo es posible escucharlos mediante una single de 5 canciones grabado en enero de 2003 y un DVD en vivo en el Teatro Mendoza, grabado en abril de 2005.

The band Ser was founded on May of 2002 in Mendoza, Argentina. It arose with the idea of express the human being and its natural and social surroundings by means of musical sounds. Its style, instrumental rock, also inlcudes elements from progressive metal, heavy, hard rock, jazz fusion, some guitar ballads, eastern and classic melodies. Although some songs have poetry, the band never wanted to include a singer. Among its repertoire, we can find remakes of the great tango composer Astor Piazzolla. From the beginning, the members were Aníbal Rivero (guitar), Federico Lemos (guitar), Horacio Cafici (drums) and Gabriel Narváez (bass), later replaced by Leandro Tapia. In some events, the band has counted with Pablo Cafici as a guest musician, recognized pianist of the scene of Mendoza. Ser, recorded its first disc of 12 songs at the beginning of 2005, but the album never got to be published in consequence of the dissolution of the band. At the moment, is possible to listen a single of 5 songs recorded in January, 2003 and a live DVD at the Theater Mendoza, recorded in April 2005.
